There are many great activities and attractions around Waves Campground. Just 15 minutes north from us lies Crescent Head, a town famous for its surf and with a buzzing atmosphere. The golf course at Crescent Head is beautifully located overlooking the point, with good value green fees.
If you’re driving a 4WD and would like an adventure take a drive south on Point Plomer Road to the 4WD-track. For the 4WD track you do not need to buy a pass, but if you wish to drive back via the beach you do need to buy a beach permit. These are available to purchase in Crescent Head. We also recommend trying the Bush Kitchen Café a little further down the road or the Tavern in town if you’d like to go out for a nice coffee or meal.
If you’re looking for a fun day trip, Port Macquarie is definitely a town that’s worth a visit. Port Macquarie lies 30 minutes south of us if driving the 4WD-track and 45 minutes if you take the highway. Other nice day trips are to Trial Bay Gaol, Timbertown or the National Trust classified village of Bellbrook.
